Marliss Amiea was born and raised in the Washington D.C. area and now makes her home here in Los Angeles. She graduated from the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts H.S. and then attended Berklee College of Music and Jacksonville University where she received a B.F.A in Musical Theatre with a minor in Dance. Having held many regional and National titles, Marliss is no stranger to pageantry however she’s most proud of becoming the first black woman to capture the crown of Miss Jacksonville (Florida).

On stage, Marliss was last seen in the Broadway National Tour of Disney’s “The Lion King”. Marliss has also performed for the Emperor of Japan and performed back-up with artists Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, Kenny Loggins, and jazz legend Dave Brubeck. Her regional stage credits include, Little Shop of Horrors, California Suite, Godspell, Tintypes, American Vybe, The Hoop Dee Doo Revue, and Playhouse Disney Live Onstage. Marliss also co-hosted the pilot presentation of Disney’s Playhouse Disney Lunchtime. She can currently be seen in several National TV commercials and indie film projects. Marliss is very excited to be part of the “City Kid” family. This one’s for my agent Kate Ward for standing by me.
